This is part of a three-film miniseries for TED & Forethought Foundation.
It explores the critical importance of long-term thinking for the future of humanity, with this particular film starting from a very thrilling question. Is the 21st century the most important in human history, especially as we stand on the cusp of developing new technologies that could fundamentally change the way people live?
We aimed for each film to stand out as fresh and unique—both individually and within the series. For this film, we brought together the visionary talents of director Jon Mayes and composer André Aires.
Mayes’ distinctive aesthetic, blending various techniques and software, was perfectly suited, with minimalist design and effective visual storytelling, combining simple shapes and characters with smooth transitions. It emphasized clarity, making intricate concepts digestible for viewers.
The pacing and design choices enhance the narrative, making the ideas resonate long after the film is watched.
