Project Description

Lucas Mariano was invited to work with the Vox team on a new look for a YouTube series they were creating. Similar to their podcast Explain It To Me, the series takes audience questions and Vox does their best to report, investigate, and deliver answers.

It was a great opportunity, and also a big challenge, to design a new visual style for a team that had already established a strong identity for this type of video. This project involved a lot of experimentation, from how questions appear on screen to lower thirds, video frames, and specific infographic animations.

“Even though we only had two weeks to work on it, it was super fun to bring these animations to life!”

In this episode, a retired schoolteacher in New York named Kathy asked us how things like cryptocurrency, cloud storage, and artificial intelligence are impacting our climate goals.
