Category Description

A title sequence within a feature-length film.

Project Description

Perception filmed and designed an emotional end title sequence for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This title sequence showcases the ritual of mourning, performed by Shuri at the end of the film. The burning cloth symbolizes moving on and healing from grief and loss, in this case, of King T’Challa and Chadwick Boseman. This title sequence gives the cast, crew and audience a moment of pause and reflection. It is a chance to process the heavy emotions of the film and connect with the memories of loved ones they also may have lost. As the sequence progresses and more cloth is burned, the new Black Panther suit is reveleaded, indicating healing and a new stage in Shuri’s life. Perception filmed this sequence with a Panavised Sony Venice 2 camera with Panavision Auto Panatar Super Speed Anamorphic Lens from Panavision, and the Black Panther suit was designed using Cinema 4D and Maya.
