Grand Jury

Jury-selected · No submission fee · The highest honor The Motion Awards can bestow

The Grand Jury Award is the summit. It is introduced at The Motion Awards X to mark the program's tenth year — a moment that calls for a recognition proportional to the occasion.

Where other awards honor excellence within a category, the Grand Jury Award honors a singular achievement in Motion Design. A work that transcends its brief, its format, and its moment. A work that the full jury agrees, unanimously, stands apart from everything else in a given year.

It is not awarded every year. It is awarded when it is earned. In years where no work rises to that standard, the jury has the authority — and the obligation — to leave it empty.

How it works
01
No entry required Every submitted work across all categories is eligible for consideration. The Grand Jury Award cannot be entered or campaigned for.
02
Unanimous jury decision The full jury must reach consensus. A majority is not sufficient. If unanimous agreement cannot be reached, the award is withheld for the year.
03
Not awarded every year The Grand Jury Award is only given when the jury believes a work truly warrants it. Scarcity is the point — it is what gives it meaning.
04
Stackable A Grand Jury Award winner may also hold category wins. The two are not mutually exclusive — they are complementary forms of recognition.
