Geometrip began as an experiment with the aim of translating a precise digital animation into analogue work done entirely by hand featuring 260 unique handcrafted paper collages. Each frame is made with cut paper, glue, masking tape, pencil, pen and marker.
The animation is inspired by the beauty of geometry with seemingly three-dimensional figures extruding and rotating on a two-dimensional plane.
Every collage has its own imperfections, irregularities and happy mistakes. By photographing each frame one by one, the natural sunlight and shadows were used as an element to highlight the passage of time in the animation, moving through the shot and reminding us of the tangible quality of the project.
